Blue Economy Innovation Summit

Last week we had the privilege to attend New Zealand's first ever Blue Economy Innovation Summit organised by our newly formed blue economy cluster Moananui.

Moananui, which means 'great ocean', brings together forward-thinking, action-orientated organisations from across Aotearoa New Zealand to collaborate on innovative solutions for a sustainable blue economy. With over 400 blue economy businesses already in Nelson Tasman, the region was the perfect setting for this Summit, offering the ideal opportunity to welcome attendees from other regions, all united in shaping the future of our blue economy.

With 175 attendees, and over 30 presenters, the event was truly a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in shaping the future of New Zealand's blue economy. From thought-provoking presentations by leaders from the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) and The New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research Limited to engaging discussions on sustainable seafood and aquaculture, the energy in Nelson's Trafalgar Centre was truly inspiring.

We are proud to be a partner with Moananui and looking to seeing what the future in this space brings!
